The Etruscan Velathri

First stop Volterra, a characteristic walled town on top of a hill, from which it dominates the entire surrounding valley, giving breathtaking views. Set of famous movies like “Twilight” and “The Medici”, is the perfect place to breath medieval atmosphere, visiting its impressive town hall, Palazzo dei Priori, the oldest in Tuscany and the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta with the Baptistery, the Florentine Forteresse and the incredible remains of the roman theatre. An important history to discover around every corner. Our tour will continue to San Gimignano, 40 minutes from Volterra.

Medieval Engineering

San Gimignano is undoubtedly well known for the incredible work of medieval engineering that characterizes its present appearance. The remaining 14 towers, over 90 of the medieval time, are standing on top of a Tuscan hill, giving a spectacular scenery.

You will be amazed by this fascinating jewel, by its Cathedral completely covered by frescoes of the XIII century, one of the few examples that we still have today in Tuscany.

San Gimignano is located in the middle of the Chianti area, the most famous wine production area of Tuscany. Right here, in one of the many wineries of the countryside you will have a nice and interesting wine tasting.
